This week our students participated in the National Hour of Code. Using Blockly to write JavaScript, students programmed characters through challenges on code.org. Between the two classes we wrote approximately 5,000 lines of code during this activity. The icing on the cake, was visiting with Mr. Michael Hedgpeth, a software architect. He talked with 4th graders in the Learning Commons about ways they could incorporate coding into their play with Lego Mindstorms and even by learning algorithms for the Rubik's cube. Samuel was sure proud of his Dad!
